Stromness road closures update - Flagstone repairs

An update for you on road closures in central Stromness associated with the current flagstone repairs.

Works are completed in the section of Victoria Street from Bank Lane, towards its junction with Ferry Road, at the fountain - this section has reopened.

Works in the area of Ferry Road adjacent to the fountain have also been completed and the road is open again to vehicles, but a section remains barriered off to allow curing - this will be in place over the weekend and until early next week.

The section of Victoria Street, from The Pier Bistro to the bottom of Church Road, remains closed to all vehicular traffic, to allow ongoing repairs and then curing. This section will be closed until the end of November.

Following on from this, the works will then move onto Alfred Street, from 1 December, starting at Hellihole Road junction, with the section up to the Lighthouse Pier access being closed. This will mean vehicular traffic access to Lighthouse Pier/ South End will be via Ness Road.

Throughout December works will continue along Alfred Street towards Mayburn Court - further updates will follow as the works progress.
