St Rognvalds to hold “Peedie County Show Day”

Staff at St Rognvald House are hosting their very own “Peedie County Show Day” for residents and their families on Saturday 21 August.

With all but the Sanday Show cancelled this year again due to the pandemic, Manager Shirley Miller said they have decided that the show will go on!

“Following an incredibly emotional and challenging 17 months it’s with great pleasure we are inviting families to come along to St Rognvalds to our first ever Peedie County Show! We will have various animals (staff pets) for judging, bottle stall, raffle, delicious food and music.

“Staff from each unit will be competing against each other in the sack race and egg and spoon race and residents will even have the chance to ‘splat the staff’ and watch while they get very messy. There will also be a children’s lucky dip.

“With so many events cancelled, we felt this would be a way of bringing a show to the residents who have missed out on so much these past months.”

Family members are invited along to St Rognvald House in Kirkwall from 11am-3pm.
