Sport & Leisure COVID update

Orkney Islands Council is reminding local users of sports and leisure services that some changes will be coming into place at facilities across Orkney (including The Pickaquoy Centre) from December 27th due to recent Government announcements around Covid restrictions.
After a careful review of Scottish Government, sportscotland and Governing Bodies guidance, the following will take effect from 27 December up to 16 January or until otherwise informed:
Fitness Suites
A number of the machines will be temporarily unavailable to accommodate physical distancing.
Group X
Group X maximum class numbers will be slightly reduced.
Physical Distancing is reinstated.
Swimming Pools
No spectators are allowed.
Physical distancing is reinstated.
Health Suite
Maximum one household or two people physically distanced.
Single Court Activities
Available to be booked but no more than three households can play on a court at any one time.
Inflatable Sessions
Remain scheduled but reduced to a maximum of three households per session.
Physical distancing is reinstated.
Sports Clubs & Hall Bookings
No indoor contact sports or physical activity can take place and all clubs with current bookings have been contacted.
Physical distancing is reinstated.
No spectators are allowed indoors.
Kirkwall Community Centre – St Magnus Café
Maximum of 3 households per table.
Physical distancing is reinstated.
