Several Orkney schools urgently in need of kitchen staff

The Council’s School Catering Service are appealing for help to keep pupils fed and watered.

There’s a number of jobs available within school catering, from cooks to kitchen assistants, permanent and relief.

The Council is really keen to hear from anyone who could help out in terms of filling part-time kitchen assistant posts at Hope and Burray Primary Schools. But there’s also a need for relief cooks and kitchen assistants at schools in Evie, Hoy and Rousay.

Staff – many of whom have been employed with the service for many, many years – tell us it’s a great job especially if you have children of your own to work around.
