Road and bus changes for community events

Here's a heads up of temporary road closures, speed and parking restrictions coming up soon, associated with events in the community, and impacts on public buses.
Saturday 17 June 2023:
- Scapa Beach front will be closed from the Orphir Junction for the Orkney Rowing Club Regatta. The Number 9 Town Service Bus will divert from Old Scapa Road along Foreland Road, out to Scapa Beach turning at the Harbour Authority Building Junction and back along New Scapa Road. - There will be road closures in Finstown tomorrow evening (Sat 17 June) from about 7:15pm - 8:30pm for the Firth Gala Fancy Dress Parade. Speed and parking restrictions will be in place on the A965 from the Pomona Inn to Old Finstown Road; the Old Finstown Road from the A965 to Acre Lea; and Acre Lea Road. Week starting Monday 19 June:
A couple of road closures in central Kirkwall next week - on Monday 19 and Thursday 22 June - for the St Magnus Festival. This will affect the Number 9 Town Service and Number 4 Airport Service buses - passengers will need to pick up the bus from the Kirkwall Travel Centre or an alternative point on the route. Looking a little further ahead there will be road closures associated with:
- Vintage Car Rally on Saturday 24 June - affecting Albert Street and Broad Street and surrounds in Kirkwall. This will affect the Number 9 Town Service and Number 4 Airport Service buses - passengers will need to pick up the bus from the Kirkwall Travel Centre or an alternative point on the route. - St Magnus Marathon on Sunday 2 July - road closures affecting central Kirkwall including Albert St, Broad St, Bridge St and Castle St. This will affect the Number 9 Town Service and Number 4 Airport Service buses - passengers will need to pick up the bus from the Kirkwall Travel Centre or an alternative point on the route.
