Resurfacing works update - 25 November 2021
Date: 25 November 2021
A quick update on road resurfacing works underway or soon to start, as of today (25 November).
We've added peedie buses to our chart to help public bus users spot any road works that might affect them.
The works on Berstane Lodge Road are now finished and Junction Road should be completed tomorrow, Friday, and reopened in full by Saturday.
Roads staff will move on to carry out resurfacing works on sections of the Deepdale Branch Road, Stromness from Monday 29 November and then Outertown Road, Stromness from Tuesday 30 November until Thursday 2 December.
The A966 junction with Gorseness Road (Tingwall junction) will be subject to works on Monday and Tuesday 6-7 December. There will be resurfacing works carried out at the B9059 Shapinsay between Housebay Cottage and Howe Farm, from Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 December.
We have already advised of the significant works to take place at the A961 St Mary’s, corner at The Inn, from Monday 13 to Friday 17 December and we will further remind of the diversions and interruptions to bus services ahead of the programme beginning.
Finally, the Old Finstown Road between Zions Loan and Kingsdale, will be undergoing some resurfacing works on Monday and Tuesday 13- 14 December.
Thanks folks for your patience as we get through these important works - and mind on to observe the speed limits and traffic management in place, which are there to keep everyone safe.
