Reminder for Artists and Craft Makers of changes to VACMA grant

Date: 25 November 2020

Time: 02:14

Artists and craft makers interested in pursuing a VACMA (Visual Artists and Craft Makers Award) grant from Orkney Islands Council can join a ‘Stay Home & Meet’ event next Wednesday evening (2 December) to find out more about the process.

The informal event will take place online between 19:00 and 20:30.

Attendees will be able to meet Creative Scotland Visual Arts Officers, panel members and staff from OIC Arts Development to discuss the VACMA grant, in advance of the 2 February 2021 application deadline.

Emma Gee is Orkney Islands Council’s Arts Development Officer: “Creative Scotland has made changes to the Visual Arts and Craft Makers Awards due to the impact of Covid-19, so we’d urge anyone with an interest in applying - particularly emergent/graduate artists who are new to this fund - to join us and find out more. Refreshments will be down to you this time!”

Please register interest with Emma Gee by email or by writing to Emma Gee, Arts Development, Education, Leisure and Housing Services, Council Offices, School Place, Kirkwall, KW15 1NY.

Visual Artist and Craft Maker Award (VACMA) offers small grants to visual artists and craft makers for their creative development at all stages of their career. These awards are supported by Creative Scotland through funding from the National Lottery in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
