Pre-startup business events to visit every area in Orkney
Date: 4 December 2023
Local would-be entrepreneurs in Orkney are being asked to register their interest for special workshop events in their area, aimed at helping potential businesses in their pre-start phase.
The events are aimed at anyone with a business idea – big or small.
Business Gateway Orkney, part of the Council’s Economic Development service, has received funding from the Scottish Government Pathways Pre Start fund to deliver ‘Island Enterprise Roadshows’ in all areas of Orkney.
At the workshops, Business Gateway advisers will cover how to put together a business plan, budget planning, HMRC requirements, marketing, market research and branding.
Folk will also have the opportunity to speak to an adviser one-to-one at the events.
Wendy Pickles is Manager of Business Gateway Orkney: “Considering starting up a business is an exciting time, whether someone is looking at turning a hobby into a business or considering a larger operation.
“There’s loads to consider and that’s where our Islands Enterprise Roadshow comes in.
“We’re gathering interest now for events in every area of Orkney – including the isles - to help us prioritise the events planning.
“So we’d urge folks to share this news with friends and family and encourage them to register, so we can keep everyone updated with dates and venues.”
Roadshows are starting very soon and will continue in the new year.
