A planning application has been submitted to the Council for a development to transform an area of green space at Papdale into a community park for all ages and abilities.
Phase one of the project forms the Council-led development of the wider park space which will pave the way forward for phase two and the Papdale East Play Association (PEPA) led project to rejuvenate and completely redevelop the play area.
The design team led by HarrisonStevens landscape architects have been working with OIC, PEPA and other stakeholders on the detailed design work and funding sources. The plans will be shared within an open exhibition to be confirmed.
Comment on the planning application.
OIC Sport and Leisure Manager, Garry Burton, said: “The community engagement process has really seen the public come on board with this proposed project from the outset and people have another opportunity to comment on the planning application. We would encourage folk to get involved as we want to ensure this is a park which is created with the help of our communities, for our communities.”
PEPA Chairwoman Lorraine Craigie said: “We look forward to further feedback from the public to ensure we can get this exciting development just right.”
