Orkney Opinions signup reminder - January 2021

Date: 12 January 2021

Time: 02:14

Orkney Islands Council is asking local residents who have been invited to join Orkney Opinions – but have not yet returned their membership survey - to do so by the end of this week.

Invitations were sent to randomly selected people to join the Council-run public forum in mid-December.

Karen Greaves, the Council’s Head of Executive Support, said: “It would be great if we could get around 200 people involved in Orkney Opinions - so that we have a good representative membership from across the community. We’ve had a good response to our invitation but we’re keen to increase the number of members further.

“We’d like to stress that getting involved won’t be onerous – we’ll be asking members to complete around four to six surveys over a 12 month period.

"We will be issuing another batch of invitations later this month, and more members onboard means we get a better range of feedback.

“Orkney Opinions is an excellent way to get feedback from Orkney residents when a range of views is sought on a given topic. It’s a channel of consulting that sits alongside the formal and open consultations we run on policy and service changes, and we’re grateful to everyone who has opted into the group in the past for their detailed and considered responses to consultations."

Membership surveys should be returned to the Council as advised in their invitation pack. To obtain a replacement survey, email the Council's Corporate Services team.
