Orkney Opinions signup reminder

Orkney Islands Council is reminding anyone who’s received an invitation to join its Orkney Opinions group to reply if they would like to be involved.
The Council has issued two sets of invitations since December – with the second round posted in late January and early February.
Invitees were selected at random from the Open Register of Electors inviting them to join Orkney Opinions.
Karen Greaves, the Council’s Head of Executive Support, says the group is vital for gathering detailed feedback about Council services – and says care is taken to ensure participating does not take up too much time:
“We had a good response to our initial set of invitations issued in December but are a bit short of our target to get 200 people involved in the group, and that’s why we decided to issue a further set of invitations.
“We’d like to stress that getting involved won’t be onerous – we’ll be asking members to complete around four to six surveys over a 12 month period and there is no pressure to respond to all of them.
“Orkney Opinions is an excellent way to get feedback from Orkney residents when a range of views is sought on a given topic. It’s a channel of consulting that sits alongside the formal and open consultations we run on policy and service changes, and we’re grateful to everyone who has opted into the group in the past for their detailed and considered responses to consultations."
Information about the background to the Orkney Opinions group is available on the Council website.
Membership surveys should be returned to the Council as advised in the invitation pack. To obtain a replacement survey or get the link to the online version, email the Council's Corporate Services team.
