Organisations invited to help folk get better connected

Date: 27 January 2021

Time: 10:36

There are still a few days left to benefit from a scheme to help get some of Orkney’s elderly or disabled folk online and better connected.

Connecting Scotland is a Scottish Government programme set up in response to coronavirus. It provides iPads, Chromebooks and support to develop digital skills for people who are digitally excluded and on low incomes.

The programme will provide iPads, internet connectivity and support to develop digital skills for people who are socially isolated or lonely and meet the following criteria:

  • Are older people (aged 60+) and/or have a disability;
  • Are digitally excluded – do not have an appropriate device and/or are not connected to the internet at home; and
  • Are on low incomes so cannot afford to buy a device or pay for internet access.

If your organisation knows of someone who fits the criteria and could benefit please submit an application via this link by 11:00 on Friday 29 January 2021: https://connecting.scot/organisations/form/older-and-disabled-people
