North Walls and Gordonstoun Schools’ musical event to raise money for the Longhope Lifeboat
Date: 22 March 2023
Time: 09:00
A very special musical event is being held in the Gable End Theatre, North Walls when two schools will come together to perform for the community – and raise money for the Longhope Lifeboat.
Pupils from Gordonstoun School in Moray are joining those from North Walls Community School to put on a concert in the Theatre on Monday 27 March at 2pm.
It’s free to attend, although money will be raised for the Longhope Lifeboat through the sale of refreshments and raffles, organised by the local Lifeboat Guild.
North Walls Community School Acting Head Teacher, Andy Trafford, explained how the event came about: “Gordonstoun contacted the Development Trust on the island saying they were visiting Hoy and whether there was a place to perform. From there I contacted the Head of Music, and it has developed into a joint concert between the schools, which will be a great experience for the North Walls children.
“The RNLI is strong within the Hoy community and certainly at this time of year, being close to the anniversary of the loss of the Longhope lifeboat, the TGB in March 1969. The concert seemed the ideal opportunity to work with the Lifeboat Guild to help raise some funds for the RNLI.
“Please come along and support the event.”
