New development programme for Orkney women entrepreneurs

Date: 1 April 2019

Time: 10:33

A new development programme for women entrepreneurs in Orkney is open for applications.

The ‘Realise’ programme has been developed by Business Gateway in conjunction with Catalyst Collective, who run leadership and mentoring initiatives for women who want to increase their impact and move their business forward.

The programme offers six group-based half-day coaching sessions over eight months, starting in mid-May.

Fiona Smith is co-founder of Catalyst Collective and will design and lead the sessions.

“I live in Orkney so have first-hand experience of the challenges that rural women entrepreneurs face – you can feel slightly removed and isolated at times.

“This programme will put you in touch with like-minded women right on your doorstep, who can help stretch your thinking, support and encourage you, and hold you to account for making changes.

“We know your time is valuable, so the sessions will be practical and action orientated with a focus on moving your businesses forward. We’ll help you tackle personal development in the areas that matter most to you as a female entrepreneur – whether that’s achieving a better work-life balance, increasing confidence or managing multiple demands on your time.”

The time commitment for the programme is around one day per month. The programme is free, with costs covered by Business Gateway Orkney as part of their work to support businesses in Orkney.

Women interested in joining the programme should complete the application form on the Business Gateway Orkney website at https://catalystcollective2.typeform.com/to/w17Fe8

Applications close on 15 April.
