May Day Holiday refuse and recycling centres information

There will be no refuse collections on the May Day Holiday, Monday 1 May 2017. Chinglebraes Waste Transfer Station, Bossack Landfill Site and all the recycling centres will be closed.

Chinglebraes Waste Transfer Station

The site will close at 15:30 on Friday 28 April 2017 and re-open at 08:30 on Tuesday 2 May 2017.

Recycling Centres

All Recycling Centres will be closed on Monday 1 May 2017.

Refuse collections - domestic and commercial

Area 1 – Kirkwall (Central and North West)

Normally collected on a Monday, will be collected on Friday 28 April 2017.

Area 6 – Deerness, Tankerness and St Andrews

Normally collected on a Monday, will be collected on Tuesday 2 May 2017.

Westray

Normally collected on a Tuesday, will be collected on Wednesday 3 May 2017.

Refuse collections - commercial

Area 9 – Stromness (Central Areas) additional collections in area

Normally collected on a Monday, will be collected on Tuesday 2 May 2017.

Kerbside recyclate collections - domestic and commercial

Normally collected on a Monday, will be collected on Friday 28 April 2017.

West Mainland commercial cardboard collection

Normally collected on a Monday, will be collected on Wednesday 3 May 2017.

Commercial oil collections

Normally collected on a Monday, will be collected on Tuesday 2 May 2017.

All other collection routes

All other collection routes will be on their usual days.

All Refuse and Recycling requires to be out by 08:00 on the collection day to ensure collection.
