Macarons for Ukraine - United with Ukraine
Date: 7 March 2022
We are continuing to share the efforts to which many local folk and businesses have gone to, to help the people of Ukraine.
Lynn Bartlett is the confectioner behind Odin’s Kitchen, based in Holm, from where she creates her sweet meringue treats in the shape of French macarons.
Like many others, Lynn felt powerless watching the shocking footage of the Russian invasion – and decided there was only one thing for it – a “Macarons for Ukraine” fundraiser.
She spread the word via her Facebook page and before long the order book was full to brimming.
“It was just my peedie bit to help and I’m overwhelmed by people’s generosity. Some people even gave extra and together we have raised £425, plus Gift Aid. I gave the ingredients and my time for free to ensure that 100% of the money raised went to the Red Cross Ukraine appeal.”
Although the fundraiser is now closed, there are various other ways people can still donate to help the people of Ukraine:
