Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 – General Extension of Licensed Hours – The King’s Coronation 2023
Orkney Islands Area Licensing Board hereby gives notice that it has determined that a general extension of licensed hours should be granted under section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 in respect of the King’s Coronation celebrations to be held on 6 to 8 May 2023.
The Board has agreed that on-sale licensed premises within the Board’s area should be permitted to operate during the following times:
- Saturday, 6 May 2023 until 01:30 on the morning of Sunday, 7 May 2023.
- Sunday, 7 May 2023 until 00:30 on the morning of Monday, 8 May 2023.
- Monday, 8 May 2023 until 24:00.
This extension will also apply to applications for on-sale occasional licences.
There is no obligation on any on-sale premises or occasional licence holder to operate up to those terminal hours. Further, operation of those hours will always be subject to any legislation, regulations and directions of the UK and Scottish Governments relative to the COVID-19 pandemic, whether relating to the protection of public health, restrictions of social gatherings, requirement for social distancing or otherwise.
