Kirkwall town centre slab repairs

In a bid to keep the Kirkwall town centre main thoroughfare looking tip top, slab repair work will be carried out from Tuesday 9 May.

The works will affect Albert Street, Bridge Street and Victoria Street, Kirkwall, over a three-week period.

Unfortunately, it will be necessary to close the roads for the work to be undertaken, with access to affected properties and deliveries to businesses accommodated where possible. All waste and recycling should be put out as normal for collection.

Here's the timetable:

• Week 1 - Bridge Street and Albert Street (Bridge St to Laing St)
• Week 2 - Albert Street (Laing St to Broad St)
• Week 3 - Victoria Street
