Isles festive waste collections reminder 

Orkney Islands Council is reminding isles residents that their household and trade collection days might differ from their usual collection day over the festive period from 23 December 2024 and 3 January 2025 inclusive, due to public holidays.

Domestic and commercial waste collection days for the isles over the Christmas and New Year are listed below. Collections will resume as normal from Monday 6 January 2025.

A reminder for Stronsay residents that Stronsay’s collection day for both householders and commercial/trade customers will change from a Tuesday to Thursdays, from the week starting Monday 6 January 2025.

• Eday - Friday 27 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025 
• Flotta - Tuesday 24 December 2024 and Tuesday 31 December 2024 
• Graemsay  - Tuesday 24 December 2024 and Tuesday 31 December 2024
• Hoy - Friday 27 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025
• North Ronaldsay - Thursday 26 December 2024 and Thursday 2 January 2025 
• Papa Westray - Thursday 26 December 2024 and Thursday 2 January 2025 
• Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre - Friday 27 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025 
• Sanday - Monday 23 December 2024 and Monday 30 December 2024. 
• Shapinsay - Wednesday 24 December 2024 
• Stronsay - Friday 27 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025 
• Westray - Monday 23 December 2024 and Monday 30 December 2024.
