Craig shares his HR journey
“People are at the heart of every service we deliver at the Council and it’s the job of Human Resources to make sure that we, as an organisation, enable our people to do their best work.
“The Council is undergoing a major transformation thanks to significant investment in our staffing through Our People – Our Plan and you could be part of our journey. We have three roles available within our Human Resources and Organisational Development service.”
Craig began his career in Human Resources almost 30 years ago, starting out in hospitality before moving to IT Sales and Distribution Business and now Local Government.
He’s now heading up the operational HR team at Orkney Islands Council and he believes there has never been a more exciting time to join the organisation.
“It’s really satisfying knowing that we are at the forefront of making sure our people can thrive and operate with creativity and drive. We must manage change, support our people through new ways of working.
“I continue to be amazed at the variety and diversity within our workforce and the Council as a whole. We deal with every member of our workforce in some way which means that no two days are ever the same.
“If you are a people person and would enjoy being at the heart of the organisation, building solid foundations then this is the job for you.”
