Help record the wildlife at Happy Valley
Date: 15 August 2017
Time: 11:52
Ever wondered what’s involved in wildlife recording? Head along to the Orkney Wildlife Information and Records Centre (OWIARC) ‘Bio Blitz’ in Happy Valley, pictured below, this Saturday 19 August between 11:00 and 15:30.
The event will be aiming to record as many of the plants and small creatures as possible that live there.
It’ll help build an understanding of the biodiversity within this special place. Findings will be added to the Orkney OWIARC data base, based at the Orkney Library and Archive.
Experts for various groups will be on hand to help identify species. Children are welcome, but must be supervised by a responsible adult.
