Have your say on possible Harbour Street works

A consultation event is being held this Tuesday, to look at potential plans for repaving part of Harbour Street in Kirkwall.
New paving is being put in on the harbour side of the street when new flood defences are put in place this year and the Council is taking the opportunity to gather public views on whether the paving on the other side could be improved too, making the area more attractive to pedestrians and cyclists, as well as improving the entrance to Bridge Street.
The Kirkwall flood defence scheme will see a 1.1-metre-high wall built at the Kirkwall basin.
The consultation drop-in event will take place on Tuesday, January 31, from noon until 6pm, in the Shapinsay Ferry Waiting Room.
