Grant scheme aimed at reducing alcohol and drug related harm opens in Orkney

Date: 1 November 2024

Time: 12:00

Organisations preventing and reducing alcohol and drug related harm in Orkney are invited to apply for Orkney Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (OADP) grants of up to £5,000 towards trying new approaches, improving ways of working and supporting recovery.

The OADP Local Improvement Fund of £30,000 is now open and inviting applications for up to a maximum of £5,000.

ADP Co-ordinator, Katie Spence, said: “The fund is designed to support activities and service developments which address the following priority areas of testing new approaches, implementing improvement and supporting recovery.

“For example, the funding could be used to enable organisations to try something new to engage and support people and families affected by, or at higher risk of, alcohol and drug related problems and issues.

“The grant could enable organisations to implement improvements that reconfigure existing services and activities to be more integrated and inclusive. In terms of support recovery, the grant could assist in the promotion of recovery from drug or alcohol problems for individuals as well as children, young people and other family members. It could also provide opportunities for volunteering/employability or community involvement that gives a voice to people and families with lived experience.

“Applications are welcome from one or more organisations working in partnership. This could include charities, clubs, community groups, a limited company and public sector organisations.”

For further information, expressions of interest and to request an application form get in touch with ADP Co-ordinator Katie Spence katie.spence@nhs.scot

The deadline to apply is noon on Monday 25th November 2024.
