“Gaan The Distance For Ukraine” – The Orcadian newspaper and McAdie & Reeve join forces

The Orcadian and McAdie & Reeve have joined forces to launch a local appeal that will see the delivery of vital items to the people of Ukraine in their time of need.

The businesses are hoping to transport an arctic lorry load (or more) of bedding, mattresses (in good condition), blankets, clothing, shoes, toiletries, hygiene products, medical supplies (bandages), children’s toys, and baby items such as nappies and wipes to refugees.

They plan to make the 4,500-mile return journey to a collection point in Suceava, in Romania, close to the border with Ukraine.

A full list of items and collection points  is available on The Orcadian Facebook page and financial donations will help get the items to Romania. A target of £6,500 has been set – folk can donate via a JustGiving page.
