Footpath closure in Glaitness

Orkney Islands Council is advising pedestrians in the Glaitness area of Kirkwall that the section of cyclepath / footpath between Pickaquoy Loan and Muddisdale Road (running behind Glaitness School and on towards the Picky Centre) will close from 10.am tomorrow (Thursday 1 November).

This is to enable crews to safely replace a misbehaving streetlight cable, registered as faulty during routine checks.

It’s expected the path will be closed until mid-week the following week, depending how works progress.
