Flagstone repairs in central Stromness next week
Date: 19 May 2022
A section of Victoria Street in Stromness will be closed to vehicles for part of next week, to allow flagstone repairs to be carried out. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
The works are planned to start on Monday 23 May 2022 on Victoria Street in Stromness, between Church Road and Graham Place, with the closure to vehicles in place for a total of four days to enable the work to be carried out on Monday and then the repairs given a further three days to cure.
It’s expected the closure will remain in place until late on Thursday 26 May 2022, but possibly until the morning of Friday 27 May 2022.
These works have been discussed in detail with the Folk Festival committee to ensure minimal disruption to their plans.
Further work in the area is expected to follow in the coming weeks.
The Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and also thank the public for their understanding as we carry out the required repairs.
Householders in the affected area are advised that all waste and recycling should be put out for collection as normal.
