Festive late-night bus services

As the festive season approaches, the OIC Transportation Team and Stagecoach have pulled together a ‘handy guide’ to the late-night bus services available, for anyone out and about over the festivities – weather dependent of course! 

On Friday and Saturday, late night buses serve the East Mainland, West Mainland and Kirkwall and Orphir, departing Kirkwall Travel Centre between 2000 and 2200.   

Daily evening services are also in operation between Stromness-Kirkwall-St Margarets Hope via the X1 as well as the evening ferry link bus which operates daily between Kirkwall – Hatston – Kirkwall – Stromness – Kirkwall.

Please note that some services are suspended over the festive period from 24 – 26th December and 31st December – 2nd January 2025.
