Ferries catering resumes

Fans of bacon butties on Orkney Ferries' sailings to the Outer North Isles will be pleased to hear that the on board catering service is up and running again from today.

On offer are all of the old favourites including hot and cold drinks, filled rolls and snacks.

Manager of Orkney Ferries, Andrew Blake, said: “We’re delighted to be restoring on board catering again on North Isles sailings now that the easing of COVID-19 restrictions allow this – we know it has been a big miss and want to thank our passengers for their patience and understanding to date.

“We’d just remind passengers that face coverings are still required when moving about the ferry, and the Scottish Government is still recommending physical distancing where possible, especially indoors, so for example when queuing for food.”
