Energy saving funding available

Date: 25 September 2017

Time: 03:07

The Council is reminding residents of funding that could help cut fuel bills and keep homes warm this winter.

OIC was awarded £1.4 million from the Scottish Government for 2017-2018 to help home owners, private sector tenants and landlords to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Under the Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland: Area Based Scheme (HEEPS: ABS), the funding is available for loft insulation, under floor insulation, internal wall insulation, and external wall insulation.

Through a separate source of funding, some households may also be eligible for help in replacing old inefficient oil boilers or storage heaters with modern versions - efficient boilers and high heat retention storage heaters.

For further information, and to check if you might be eligible for funding, contact Firefly Energi (Orkney) Ltd on 01856881151, by email to info@fireflyenergi.co.uk or by calling past their office at 31 Broad Street, Kirkwall (Monday-Friday, 09:00 to 17:00).
