Eday and Hoy Orkney Matters 2 events – dates announced
Date: 19 September 2024
Time: 10:00
Dates for Orkney Matters 2 events in Eday and Hoy have been announced.
Orkney Matters 2 follows on from Orkney Matters, a community engagement programme held in 2020-21 which saw partners from across the Orkney Partnership meet with communities across Orkney to identify key issues to these areas.
It picks up the conversation where Orkney Matters 1 left off with everyone invited to take part and talk about what is most important to them and their community.
- The Eday event will take place at the Eday Heritage Centre from 8:00pm to 9:30pm on 26 September.
- The Hoy event will take place at the YM Longhope from 7:30pm to 9:00pm on 27 September.
A Kirkwall event is taking place on 30 September at the Kirkwall Town Hall from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Dates for online events are being finalised and will be announced shortly.
18 meetings have already taken place as part of the programme – meaning by the end of the programme meetings will have taken place in every community council area.
The Orkney Partnership brings public agencies together with the community and business to deliver better, more joined-up public services and improve the quality of people’s lives. Members include Orkney Islands Council, NHS Orkney, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Highlands Islands Enterprise, and Voluntary Action Orkney. Many community and business groups are active in developing the Partnership’s Community Plan and in delivering it.
