Covid-19 – new business support now available

Date: 23 October 2020

Time: 01:03

Applications can now be made for support from the Scottish Government’s new £48 million fund to help businesses affected by temporary restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus.

The COVID-19 Restrictions Fund can provide one-off grants to eligible businesses directly impacted by the restrictions the Government brought in on 9 October.

These include:

  • Hospitality businesses required by the regulations to operate in a restricted way.
  • Producers and wholesale businesses supplying primarily short-life goods or produce to hospitality businesses that have had to close or operate in a restricted way.

In Orkney, the Government’s new Business Hardship Fund grants are being administered by the Council – local businesses can find out more and apply online at the ‘Support’ section here: www.orkney.gov.uk/CV-Biz
