Council website outages expected as planned maintenance takes place this Thursday night

Delays and disruptions are expected on parts of the Council website on Thursday evening as essential maintenance and testing works are carried out on the Council network.
The periods of disruption will also affect school networks.
Users of the Council website www.orkney.gov.uk will experience delays carrying out online payments or reporting issues via the MyOrkney section of the website.
Planning and Building Warrant application searches and submissions will also be affected.
The work will take place between 6.30pm and 8.30pm Thursday 18 August.
The vital maintenance works are being carried out to ensure the Council’s information systems are robust with full protection against malicious cyber-attack.
We do appreciate this may cause some disruption for customers, but the upgrades will help ensure we can protect sensitive data and keep essential services going on behalf of the community.
The Council’s IT team will work to keep disruption to a minimum.
