Cost of living payments update

Just under 2,000 households in Orkney have received the £200 cost of living payment now. Please do not worry if you are still to receive yours – they are coming soon.

There’s another 175 or so payments to be made next week – they are due to appear in your bank accounts around Wednesday or Thursday (8 or 9 March).

We know it can be confusing and frustrating as to why your friend or relative may have received their payment ahead of you – the main reason for having to wait that bit longer has been due to needing to get folk’s bank account details.

There’s still plenty of time for others to apply as the scheme doesn’t close until 30 April and we aim to make payments within four weeks of each individual application.
