Cost of Living payments update

The first tranche of the Council’s Cost Of Living payments has been arriving with Orkney households in recent days.

Folks who’ve received payment in the last few days are those who had applied by 9 February, and the vast majority of folk who were automatically entitled and for whom the Council already held their bank details. (There are some folks however who will receive payments in the next tranche due to issues like clarifying bank details, but they’ll be aware of this).

The next (second) lot of payments will include anyone who applied after 9 February and before 20 February.

All going well the Council hopes to make the second tranche of payments in the week starting 6 March or soon thereafter. A further update will be issued as soon as details can be confirmed.
