We have some exciting imagery to share with you!

Teams have been working on transforming the 3-hectare space at Papdale East, from the groundworks by Andrew Sinclair Contractors to volunteers from Development and Marine Planning planting wildflowers.

You can see from these drone shots how the plans are shaping up.

The community park for all ages and abilities will feature a reopened culverted burn, a network of paths and cycle ways, increasing physical activity through active travel, native shrubs and trees, and a wildflower meadow.

A new road crossing will link the park to Kirkwall Grammar School and a plaza will be created for community use.

Once this is complete, phase two will kick in with the local community group Papdale East Play Association (PEPA) reinstating the play area.

Keep an eye on social and local media for further updates.
