Community Halls Training Event

Date: 12 October 2020

Time: 01:33

The annual Orkney Community Halls Training Event is due to be held online for the first time later this month due to ongoing pandemic restrictions.

Voluntary Action Orkney and Orkney Islands Council’s Community Learning and Development (CLD) Sector have again joined forces to organise this year’s event.

CLD Manager Kerry Spence said: “We have had to come up with an alternative online event this year due to the ongoing restrictions but we hope it will be as effective.

“Following requests at last year’s halls event, the training offered will be ‘Safe Service and Sale of Alcohol’. We will also have a discussion session offering support and guidance to halls in regard to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines for re-opening halls.

“The halls will also have their usual round up where representatives can discuss their successes, concerns and share solutions.”

The CLD/VAO-funded event, which is due to go ahead on Saturday, 31 October, is free to participants, however places are limited so must be booked by contacting Lorna.Newton@orkney.gov.uk, providing names and email addresses and details of the hall being represented. Individuals should also indicate their wish to attend all or specific sessions available.
