Car park closures in Kirkwall starting 14 June

Orkney Islands Council is advising their Roads teams will be carrying out surface dressing in a number of car parks in Kirkwall from Tuesday 14 June, throughout the rest of the week and into Saturday.

For safety, the car parks will be closed to all vehicles while works are underway (and to pedestrians where necessary).

It’s expected each car park will only close for a day or two. However the works are highly weather dependent and dates might therefore change at short notice. Updates will be provided on the Council’s ‘OIC Updates’ facebook page and in the News section of the Council website.

Car parks affected and scheduled work dates are:

• Crafty Car Park (Scout Hall, MS Therapy) - Tuesday 14 & Wednesday 15 June
• Waterfront West Car Park (opposite Ayre Hotel) - Wednesday 15 & Thursday 16 June
• Waterfront East Car Park (St Catherine’s Roundabout) - Thursday 16 & Friday 17 June
• Muddisdale Car Park (at Glaitness Primary School) - Saturday 18 June
• Council Offices Car Park - Saturday 18 June 2022
• East Kirk Car Park (Guide Hall car park) - Saturday 18 June
