Bus, ferry and Museum changes for 'Hoy on Hoy' event

Date: 25 April 2023

The Council is advising of changes to public transport and to Scapa Flow Museum opening times as a result of the ‘Hoy on Hoy’ events this Saturday (29 April 2023).

Scapa Flow Museum will be closed until 10:30am on 29 April as Sir Chris Hoy and major funders of the project are given a private tour of the newly redeveloped facility.

The Museum café will be closed all day.

All are welcome to attend the ribbon cutting at 12 midday and the community events from 12:30pm outside the Museum in Lyness.

Anyone wishing to visit Hoy on 29 April are advised to check the amended ferry service for the day to and from Houton, Flotta and Lyness ferry terminals here - http://www.orkneyferries.co.uk/news.php, and to book foot passenger and vehicle spaces as soon as possible via www.orkneyferries.co.uk

The public bus Service 2 between Kirkwall and Houton will also operate a changed timetable for the day to meet with the amended ferry sailings – full details are available at www.orkney.gov.uk/hoyonhoy
