A By-Election is to be held for the return of a Councillor for the Stromness and South Isles Ward of Orkney Islands Council

An outline of changes to the normal opening hours at the Council's Waste Management Sites over the festive period, for commercial customers and householders.

The Council has simplified the arrangements for representations to planning applications, whether objections, letters of support, or other representations.

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during Orkney Agricultural Society’s running of the annual County Show.

The Order will be in operation on Saturday, 12 August 2022, between the hours of 00:01 and 23.30. The effect of the Order will be:

(1) to close The Meadows, Kirkwall, between its junction with Meadow Drive and Meadow Park from 08:00 to 17:00; and (2) to prohibit waiting at any time in a road specified in the Schedule hereto.

A summing up of road works underway or soon to start in the county - for week starting Monday 7 August 2023.
