Community groups and individuals around Orkney are being thanked for their input so far into the national Remembering Together project for Orkney, and are invited to a drop-in at the Pier Arts Centre, on Saturday 10 December between 10.30am and 5pm.

Three wooded areas managed by the Council will be undergoing specialist maintenance works soon to ensure they continue to thrive and are a safe space for people to enjoy.

The online consultation into potential future options for reducing traffic speeds and improving pedestrian safety in Finstown closes on Monday (21 March) at 9am.

The Orkney public will be able to voice their thoughts and concerns about traffic in Finstown when a consultation website opens next week (7 March).

Orkney councillors have agreed a response to the National Care Service consultation, including the need to work closely with the Scottish Government to ensure the best social care outcomes for Orkney residents.

Elected members approved two responses to the consultation at a Special General Meeting of the Council on Monday (1 November) – the first involved the provision of answers to an extensive survey, and the second, a letter to Kevin Stewart MSP Minister for Mental Wellbeing and Social Care. Both were shaped by feedback and input from a range of key anchor organisations involved in the delivery of health and social care services across Orkneys, their staff, service users and elected members.
