Orkney Towns Board formed

The Full Council met this afternoon to formally approve the appointment of Stephen Hagan as Chair of the new Orkney Towns Board.

The Full Council also agreed the appointment of two Councillors to the Board - the Chair of Education, Leisure and Housing and the Chair of the Development and Infrastructure Committee

The Chair's intention to initially appoint a Board comprising of the following members:

• Stephen Hagan (Chair)
• Local MP
• Liam McArthur -MSP
• Gwenda Shearer as Chair of the Council's Education, Leisure and Housing Committee
• Kristopher Leask as Chair of the Council's Development and Infrastructure Committee
• Chief Inspector Scott Robertson (as Police representative)
• Craig Spence
• Morven Brooks
• Cheryl Chapman
• Michael Morrison
• Rachel Scarth
• David Campbell

The first meeting of the Board will take place in June.
