St Colm's tall ship sailing experience

Date: 28 July 2023

People on tall ship

Workers from St Colm’s Café and Crafts had the chance to participate in an outing on a tall ship recently, the Lady of Avenel, which was chartered in Orkney for a few weeks.

It was a very enjoyable, active experience, with everyone getting a chance to raise and take down the sails, steer the ship, or to just relax and luckily enjoy the amazing weather.

St Colm’s Café and Crafts is a part of the Lifestyles Service which is an important part of the OIC’s All Age Learning Disabilities Service, providing valuable work-related opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in Orkney.

When they are not out sailing tall ships, they produce a range of high-quality garden furniture, planters, ornaments, kindling and firewood, as well as hand-made greeting cards, wedding stationary and crafts.

You can find them on Facebook: St Colms Café & Crafts or email enquiries to: stcolmscafecrafts@orkney.gov.uk
