SEPA have now issued a flood warning for St Margaret’s Hope, Burray and Stromness for Wednesday (22 March).

Due to the forecasted high tide and surge, the Council will be deploying the flood defences in St Margaret’s Hope this afternoon (Tuesday 21 March).

The water level is getting close to the flooding threshold in the area so we will also be putting out a couple of pallets of sandbags at Cromarty Square for residents to use if required.

As a precaution we are also going to put pallets of sandbags outside the Garson Roads Depot in Stromness and the Burray Pier for members of the public to use as needed.

Check out the SEPA Floodline page for more.
