Study support opportunities for young students in Orkney

Date: 28 February 2023

With Scottish Qualifications Authority exams and final assessments just around the corner, there’s a wealth of additional study support available for young students in Orkney.

In a bid to complement the support already being received from within schools, a webinar programme is again being delivered as a key part of the national e-Learning offer.

The e-Sgoil Senior Phase Easter Study Support programme for 2023 runs from 3-14 April. It is made up of live, interactive webinars delivered by experienced, General Teaching Council for Scotland registered teachers. A total of 80 webinar groups are on offer this year, covering 30 subjects. Each group will meet for three separate webinar sessions.

Last year, there were over 15,000 webinar registrations and learners’ evaluations were overwhelmingly positive. The service is free to all learners.

Registration for Easter Study Support opens on Wednesday 1 March. The following link, which will be live from 1 March, will give access to the Easter Study Support timetable, registration form, and a range of supporting documents: https://e-sgoil.com/easter-study-support-2023/

Students don’t have to wait until the Easter holidays to access Study Support from e-Sgoil: the ongoing programme of live evening webinars continues – see Digital learning from Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar | e-Sgoil  for the schedule and to sign up.

Building on its role throughout the pandemic, the national e-Learning programme for learners remains available at all times, and on standby for any periods of school closure and disruption for whatever reason. As well as the Study Support webinars, it provides access to thousands of recorded lessons by Scottish teachers, online self-study resources and a range of mental health and wellbeing resources.
