Shapinsay wheelie bin reminder - tell us what bins you need

Date: 17 February 2023

Shapinsay residents are being reminded to advise the Council how many wheelie bins they want delivered to their address, as the Council prepares to roll out wheelie-bin collections in the community from 22 March.

Households are urged to respond to their recent letter from the Council by completing the online form, before Friday 24 February.

If households don’t want any bins, they still need to complete the form – otherwise the Council’s waste team will deliver one refuse bin and two recycling bins to their address, in early March.

Residents can request 'red bags' instead of bins if their home is more than 75m from the public road, or if they will struggle with storage space for wheelie bins. You can also request 'assisted collections' if you struggle with mobility.
