Looking to declutter and spring clean? Want to make some room in your wardrobe? Well, look no further for we can help!

Following the success of last year’s “Prom Pop Up” appeal, the Council’s Community Learning and Development team are keen to ask for a peedie sprinkle of Cinderella-style magic once more.

It was recycling at its best as pre-loved and new outfits and accessories were gifted for secondary students to choose from to enable many more of them to go to their school ball in 2022.

Donations of dresses, suits, shirts, waistcoats, ties, jumpsuits, jackets, shoes and anything else that may make a young person feel pampered and dapper is being sought.

Items can be dropped off to Lianne Taylor at the Youth Café, down St Magnus Lane, Kirkwall on Mondays between 3.30pm-6pm for the forseeable or with Karen Bevan on Thursday 16 Feb and Thursday 9 March at the Stromness Community Centre between 6 and 9pm.

For dropping off outwith those times please contact Karen on 07385401588 or Karen.Bevan@orkney.gov.uk or Lianne on Lianne.Taylor@orkney.gov.uk to make arrangements.

Don’t worry, we will share the dates and times again and further details will be available on how students can book private time slots for choosing their outfits.
