Update on inter isles air service disruptions

Date: 12 September 2022

An update (as at 16:00 on Monday 12 September) for inter-isles air passengers in Orkney on current service disruptions:

Loganair have advised the Council that technical issues experienced on Thursday (8 September) afternoon with one of the two inter-isles air craft is going to require further work.

With Loganair’s second inter-isles aircraft undergoing its annual deep mechanical service, this has meant there have been no inter-isles flights since Thursday afternoon.

We are keeping in contact with Loganair who deliver the interisles air services on our behalf to resolve this situation as soon as possible.

Loganair expects to be able to recall the second aircraft from its mechanical checks this afternoon and carry out the necessary tests to bring it back into service, possibly by tomorrow (Tuesday 13 September) afternoon.

Loganair advises they are in the process of contacting affected passengers.
