Date: 28 July 2022

100,000th visitor to the Cathedral

The Cathedral welcomed the 100,000th person since the new vestibule was opened on 1 April earlier this year.

Jacqueline Noguera is from the Philippines, and she is one of the crew members off the cruise ship MSC Poesia, which is visiting Orkney today, 28 July.

Visitor Services Assistant Ross Flett was on hand to present Jacqueline with a small bag of Orkney goodies to mark the occasion.

Ross and Jacqueline are pictured here at the new cathedral vestibule, along with two of her colleagues from the ship.

Visitor Services Officer Fran Hollinrake said: “It has been wonderful to have the new vestibule open for the season, and we are delighted to have welcomed our 100,000th visitor. The response to the new entry has been really positive – it really enhances the cathedral, letting in lots of light and creating a very welcoming space.”
