Road works update - 21 July 2022

Road works update for the coming week:

Cromwell Road, Kirkwall: Work has started on the micro-asphalt footway resurfacing from near the Coastguard Station to the junction of Cromwell Road with Weyland Bay. In order for the works to be carried out safely the footway along Cromwell Road will be closed and an alternative walkway will be provided, with these measure remaining in place until the new surfacing material has fully cured.

Ayre Road Kirkwall: In addition to the works being carried by OIC, there is still a road closure on Ayre Road, between the Ayre Roundabout and the Ayre Mills Roundabout. This is work by Scottish Water to enable them to lay the next section of the new foul sewer. It's expected that Ayre Road will reopen at some point next week.

Glaitness Road Kirkwall: There are also the temporary traffic lights on Glaitness Road in connection with the laying of a new watermain - again th4ese are Scottish Water works.
