Earl Thorfinn ferry out of service while leak investigated

A leak has been discovered in the hull of the Earl Thorfinn today Wednesday (20 July).
As a precaution the vessel is currently waiting at Westray pier while divers are arranged to take a look.
A replacement vessel is due to arrive at Westray early this afternoon, then departing at 14.30pm, arriving in Kirkwall 15.55pm.
In the meantime, Orkney Ferries will require to switch to a two-vessel operation covering the North Isles until the extent of the issue is known and resolved.
